INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – A win is not the only thing on the line for the Colts versus Broncos playoff game on Sunday. Two breweries have entered a friendly wager.
Its between Indy’s Sun King brewery and Colorado-based Oskar Blues Brewery, and its all to benefit charity.
If the Broncos lose, a portion of Saturday’s sales from Oskar Blues will be donated to Know Outlets, a campaign to help the homeless here in Indianapolis. Sun King will match the donation.
The wager is similar in Colorado, benefiting a local charity there.
“When the playoff game hit we started going back and forth a little sassy,” said Clay Robinson, President of Sun King Brewery. “We were talking about a case of beer from one to the other, but we have plenty of beer at both breweries so we figured why not make it a wager that was worth while. The losing team is going to make a donation of a portion of the sales from their tasting rooms to charity and then match that portion so that we raise money and give back to our communities.”
There’s an estimated 8,000 homeless living in Indianapolis.
