Police raid illegal after-hours club, arrest one

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) Just after midnight, the Fort Wayne Police Department served a search warrant and shut down what they called “an illegal after-hours club” on the city’s southeast side.

According to the police report, there were numerous reports of underage drinking, drug sales and use, prostitution, fights and gunshots in and around the residence.

WISH-TV News sister station, WANE-TV reports that when police raided the residence, located at 415 East Leith St., Rodney C. Brooks, 40, of Fort Wayne was arrested. Brooks was charged with maintaining a common nuisance, a level six felony, and possession of marijuana, a class A misdemeanor.

The Emergency Services Team, the Vice/Narcotics Division, the Allen County Sheriff’s Department, and the Indiana State Police assisted the Fort Wayne Police Department.  The St. Joe Township Fire Department was on stand-by with their warming bus, but it ended up not being needed.
