BOONE CO., Ind. (WISH) — Multiple car crashes happened in Central Indiana Monday morning as roads became slick with black ice.

Boone County was one major area of concern. One of the crashes was on northbound U.S. 52 near Interstate 65. A vehicle flipped in that area. At least one other crash happened nearby that one.

Closer to Indianapolis, a semi rolled over on westbound I-865, near I-65. One person was injured in the crash. Around 7 a.m., police suggested people avoid that area for an hour.

Around 8:30 a.m., another semitrailer rolled over on the ramp to I-65 from State Road 47. Someone was injured in that crash, and police asked drivers to avoid the area until around 9:30 a.m.

Police officials in Delaware County warned of slick roads. And, Indiana State Police covering the Pendleton region said I-69 was icy, as well. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
