IMPD: 1 shot, 1 pistol-whipped in west side robbery attempt

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Indianapolis police officials say one person was shot and another person was pistol-whipped during an attempted robbery on the city’s west side Monday night.

It happened in the 4500 block of West 30th Street around 10:15 p.m. According to officials at the scene, two suspects broke into a home, injuring two victims in their 20s.

An IMPD spokesperson said a male victim was shot in the back and taken to Sidney & Lois Eskenazi Hospital in stable condition. A second victim who was pistol-whipped was released on scene.

Police said there were other people inside the home at the time of the crime.
