DELAWARE COUNTY,Ind. (WISH) – An early morning wreck resulted in an Indiana State Police officer sent to the hospital.

According to ISP, a vehicle traveling northbound on I-69 struck a state police car sitting off on the side of road near the 244 mile marker.

Police say 20-year-old Zachary Patterson was traveling too fast for the black ice and fog conditions when he lost control of his 1996 Mustang.

Patterson was uninjured, but was ticketed by police for speed too fast for existing conditions.

Sgt. David Poynter was in the vehicle at the time of the wreck.
