INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Most areas in and around Indy picked up 1-3 inches of snow this weekend. Generally, even areas that did not see large quantities of snow accumulation, dealt with less-than-ideal road conditions Monday morning.
The below freezing temperatures will allow for slushy streets to become icy and slick. Extra time and slow speeds will be needed for the morning drive.
HAMILTON COUNTY CONDITIONS: U.S. 31 is snow covered and slick. Driving up Meridian Street from downtown, the roads get worse the further north you go. Around 70th Street things take a turn for the worst. At best, there is one lane partially clear. U.S. 31 is especially tricky because of the construction, and markings are nearly impossible to see.
INDIANAPOLIS & INTERSTATES: Blustery winds left many main streets, side roads and interstates at least partially snow-covered in Indianapolis and to its north. Early morning commuters were forced to share single or half-visible lanes at times.
Extra time and slow speeds will be needed for the morning drive.
UPCOMING WEATHER: Snow will wrap up early Monday as the storm moves away from Indiana. Expect a mix of sun and clouds with highs near 20 degrees. Winds will pick from the north and northwest from 10-20 mph with higher gusts.
