SHELBYVILLE, Ind. (WISH) — Police serving a warrant at a Shelbyville home for a writ of attachment ended up arresting two people for neglect after finding a dirty home.
Investigators said the home in the 200 block of North West Street in Shelbyville had soiled clothes, pizza boxes, trash bags, old food and pop cans all over the floor. There were five children home at the time, and the younger ones struggled to walk over the items on the floor, according to police officials.
Police arrested Shane and Michele Lyda on warrants and a preliminary charge of neglect of a dependent. Police contacted Child Protective Services.
