Indiana Attorney General addresses Anthem breach
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Indiana Attorney General, Greg Zoeller stopped by WISH-TV on Saturday morning to discuss the Anthem cyber data breach and how people can protect their information from identity theft.
One of the largest corporate data breaches occurred this week, and it affected thousands of central Indiana residents. On Saturday, Attorney General Greg Zoeller discussed ways people can keep their personal information secure.
Zoeller’s tips include taking responsibility for credit reports by freezing your credit, monitoring credit reports and filing taxes early.

The process is easy and should take only a few minutes to accomplish. Freezing credit is permanent, but can be temporarily unfrozen by a simple phone call to credit companies.
Another security red flag to watch for are the phishing scams circulating, which include third-party emails asking for personal insurance information while posing as Anthem. If a consumer receives an email asking them to click on a link that will take them to an Anthem page to confirm personal information, Zoeller said that is a red flag for phishing.
