Brown County McDonald’s boasts local art

NASHVILLE, Ind. (WISH) – A Brown County McDonald’s stands apart from every other fast food restaurant after a recent makeover.

The owners, Mike and Gerry Stieglitz, convinced McDonald’s corporate that their restaurant, at 501 Indiana State Road 135, deserved to advertise the area’s artistic side.

The Stieglitz’ McDonald’s held a grand reopening on Saturday, and local veterans were there to help kick off the celebration with an official flag-raising.

Inside, Mike Stieglitz proudly boasted all the artwork that was installed, including Plexiglas panels depicting Brown County bird artist Bill Zimmerman’s work, a Harold Hancock mural and historical photographs of the Brown County Courthouse and Old Log Jail.

Mike Stieglitz believes that tourists will enjoy visiting this McDonald’s on their way through Brown County.
