Indiana companies recognized as ‘fit-friendly’
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Some Indiana companies and organizations have been recognized by The American Heart Association as fit-friendly work sites.
The association says the 57 companies they recognized promote physical activity and health in the workplace.
Nationally, the association recognized 1,896 companies.
The American Heart Association says the ‘Fit-Friendly Companies’ program is intended to motivate corporations to increase employee’s physical activity and nutrition.
They say American employers are losing an estimated $225.8 billion a year because of healthcare expenses and health-related losses in productivity.
