Bloomfield man who last saw missing woman found dead

BLOOMFIELD, Ind. (AP) – An autopsy has determined a Bloomfield man who was one of the last people to see a missing woman has died of a stab wound to the heart.

Indiana State Police Sgt. Curt Durnil says an autopsy Friday on the body of 22-year-old D.J. Lockhart confirmed the fatal wound.

Lockhart was found Thursday evening in a home in Bloomfield, about 65 miles southwest of Indianapolis.

No arrests have been made.

Lockhart was the former boyfriend of 18-year-old Marina Boelter, who disappeared New Year’s Eve after work at Bloomfield’s IGA. Lockhart told police he saw Boelter get into a car with an older man and they drove away. Police have said they’ve exhausted all leads about the car and man.

Durnil says it’s unclear whether the stabbing and disappearance are linked.
