Carmel swim team wins record title

CARMEL, Ind. (WISH) – The Carmel girls swim team won its 29th consecutive state title on Saturday, tying a national record for the most consecutive high school state championships in any sport.

Carmel did so in dominant fashion, destroying the field by more than 250 points at the IUPUI Natatorium. They broke national records in all three relays and won nine of 11 swimming events.

The streak Carmel ties was set by the Punahou boys swim team in Honolulu.
