Man sentenced to five decades in prison for child molesting

TIPPECANOE CO., Ind. (WLFI) – A Lafayette man is sentenced to more than five decades in prison for child molesting.

Last month, Payton Jarrard, 29, was found guilty of child molesting and pleaded guilty to being a habitual offender.

Prosecutors said last August, Jarrard inappropriately touched an 11-year-old girl.

He was located by authorities in September less than a week after he was featured on News 18’s Fugitive Search.
