Noblesville teen runs track, invents app for school

NOBLESVILLE, Ind. (WISH) – This week’s Forum Credit Union Athlete of the Week could turn out to be a future Tech executive. Noblesville senior runner Lydia Knoll has invented an app.

“[It’s] a place where students, athletes, parents, where any one in Noblesville can visit, you can see all the schedules, the rosters, just one centralized place where they can get all the athletic information they need,” said Lydia, describing the app.

She developed the idea as part of an innovations class she took at Noblesville, where students come up with a project and have the semester to get it done. An undergrad from Purdue helped her with the coding of the app, but the idea, design and details were all Lydia.

“She is very intelligent,” said Noblesville track coach Liz Sackers. “She is one of our finer students at Noblesville High School, and it just makes me proud to be her coach.”

Once she finishes the app, she plans on giving it to Noblesville High School. She then hopes to market and sell it other schools in the area.
