A Logansport pool gets a $750K facelift

LOGANSPORT, Ind. (WLFI) – A Logansport pool will have a new look this summer.

The city is hoping a $750,000 renovation project will revive Tower Park Municipal Pool. The project calls for a new bath house, a new water slide and splash pad area. The size of the pool is also being reduced by 40 percent.

Last July, the city’s Parks and Recreation Board voted to close the pool due to mechanical problems. Mayor Ted Franklin said they were going to abandon the pool, but have decided to give it a second chance.

“We want to do everything we can to return that property to a more functional use,” Franklin said. “We think that this is something that is certainly affordable right now, but it’s also something that we could easily provide.”

The project will go up for bid in March. Franklin said they hope to have the project complete by the end of June.
