INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Friends and family of an Indiana-native killed after being taken hostage by ISIS are remembering his birthday.

They say Abdul-Rahman Peter Kassig would have been turning 27.

To help carry his legacy forward, they’re asking people to contribute to the humanitarian scholarship that Butler University established in his honor.

To make a donation, you can click here and designate your gift “In memory of Abdul-Rahman Peter Kassig.”

Kassig attended Butler University and studied political science in 2011 and 2012.
