Driver escapes burning truck on west side

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Firefighters say a truck driver is in stable condition after escaping from his burning truck on the west side of Indianapolis Thursday.

It happened around noon in the 3700 block of West Morris Street. Firefighters say the driver was asleep in the truck when he awoke and found the vehicle on fire.

Medics transported the driver to Sidney & Lois Eskenazi Hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation.
