Biotechnology firm to bring jobs to Franklin

FRANKLIN, Ind. (WISH) – A lab filled with scientists who are studying, learning and innovating in the field of biotechnology might be moving into a downtown Franklin building.

B2S Life Sciences is a biotechnology company that tailors medicines to specific conditions, and they have expressed interest in creating a laboratory in downtown Franklin, Indiana.

The one-year-old company has been looking to relocate to a building owned by Franklin Development Group on 97 East Monroe Street by summer 2015, where they plan to install a lab on the first floor and offices on the second floor.

The B2S Labs company was created in 2014 as an offshoot of a biotherapy company located in Beech Grove, called B2S Consulting, and will create specified medicine for patients with specific diseases and conditions.

Over the last year, B2S Labs has worked specifically with patients who were battling cancer and diabetes, according to 24-Hour News partner paper The Daily Journal.

The new lab would bring 40 science, finance and business jobs to the Franklin area. Franklin College students would also get a chance to intern in the biotechnology firm.
