Fiber optic internet to come to Westfield

WESTFIELD, Ind. (WISH) – Westfield Redevelopment Commission approved a tax increment financing (TIF) initiative to install gigabit broadband throughout the Westfield community.

Westfield announced on Friday that they will allow Metronet, a gigabit broadband provider, to be installed throughout the area. This announcement marks the 22nd city in Indiana that Metronet will serve in this capacity.

Metronet offers a 100% fiber optic network, which allows incredibly fast internet speed, up to a full gigabit per second. The fiber optic company also offers television and phone services.

The company is scheduled to install the the broadband network in Westfield in March 2015.
