Indianapolis Airport Authority to release land to brokers, developers

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – The Indianapolis International Airport Authority (IAA) will release more than 600 acres of land back into the local market on Friday.

The more than 600 acres of land that IAA will release includes areas surrounding the old airport terminal and along Washington Street.

According to IAA, the Request for Qualifications (RFQual) will be sent to brokers on Friday. And another RFQual will be issued to developers on March, 27, 2015.

RFQuals are due back to the IAA for review by 2:00 p.m. on April 17.

“With this initiative, we hope to further support the local economy by giving businesses, neighbors and economic development groups access to new property,” said Michael Wells, IAA board president. “With the level of interest so far, we are expecting a great response from the real estate community.”

The IAA plans to have final selections placed by June 2015.
