Flu cases decrease, hospitals lift restrictions

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Franciscan St. Francis Hospital has lifted flu restrictions in their Indianapolis, Moorseville and Carmel locations.

Flu restrictions were lifted, effective March 1, in accordance with a recommendation from Indianapolis Coalition for Patient Safety.

Hospitals in the coalition had implemented the restrictions in Dec. 2014 in response to skyrocketing cases of flu throughout Marion County.

Since December, reported cases of flu have decreased.

However, visitors 12-years-old and younger will continue to be restricted from the Franciscan St. Francis Hospital – Indianapolis’ neonatal intensive care unit in an effort to discourage the spread of respiratory syncytial virus infection.
