Chance of snow developing Wednesday afternoon

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – After seeing rain and freezing rain Tuesday, another wave of moisture could combine with colder air to produce snow areas south of Indianapolis.

It’s difficult to say exactly who will get what, but in general, the higher chances of accumulating snow will be south of Interstate 70.

Indianapolis residents should expect a few slick spots during their evening and morning commutes.

Southern portions of the state will be under a winter weather advisory from noon Wednesday until 9 a.m. Thursday. Areas south of Bloomington, Nashville, and Columbus could see anywhere from 3 to 6 inches of snow. Lighter totals of 1 to 3 inches could fall as far north as I-70.

As the storm passes through southern Indiana, INDOT plow trucks will work 12-hour shifts to clear roads and interstates.

Stay with Storm Track 8 as we track these tricky developments during the day.
