Sheriff tweets at suspect: ‘We’ve got your room ready’

BUTLER COUNTY, Ohio (WDTN) – Butler County Sheriff’s deputies confirm the man who responded to his own wanted post has turned himself in.

Deputies were trying to locate a man wanted for several warrants, including assault and burglary. Investigators posted images and a description of the man, Andrew Dale Marcum, on Monday.

Later in the day, a man by that name with the same profile picture as posted by the sheriff’s office commented on the post.

“I ain’t tripping half of them don’t even know me,” he said.

The sheriff’s office responded to the reply saying: “If you could stop by the Sheriff’s Office, that’d be great.”

And… “Hey, it doesn’t hurt to ask.”

The reply has been shared on Facebook more than 1,000 times.

Butler County Sheriff Richard Jones posted a photo of a jail cell on Twitter, telling Marcum that “we’ve got your room ready”.

Deputies say Marcum turned himself in Tuesday evening.
