Hinchcliffe to be sponsored by Arrow Electronics at SPM

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) – Schmidt Peterson Motorsports has signed technology company Arrow Electronics as primary sponsor for new driver James Hinchcliffe.

Arrow worked with Schmidt last year on machine-to-machine technologies that enabled the team owner to drive a modified Corvette at Indianapolis Motor Speedway last May. Schmidt has been a quadriplegic since a 2000 accident during an IndyCar practice session.

Hinchcliffe joined SPM during the offseason to replace Simon Pagenaud in the No. 77 Honda. But the team is changing the car to No. 5 to mark Arrow’s “Five Years Out initiative.”

Arrow Electronics is a global provider of products, services and solutions to industrial and commercial users of electronic components and enterprise computing solutions.

Arrow is a supply channel partner for more than 100,000 original equipment manufacturers in 56 countries.
