Community supports 8-year-old with Leukemia

HARLAN, Ind. (WANE) – Community members came together Saturday for a fundraiser to support 8-year-old Cayden Wueller.

Wueller has one more round of chemotherapy to go in Indianapolis to treat Burkitt’s Leukemia.

The event featured a hog roast in Harlan as well as a corn hole tournament, silent and live auctions and a bake sale.

Cayden’s stepfather, Justin Krohn, said the family has been overwhelmed by support. People have been donating gift cards for gas and restaurants to help the family. Much of the support has come from people they don’t even know.

“It’s amazing, you know,” said Krohn. “You hear about all the bad things that happen in this world and to see the outpouring of support from the community, it’s just amazing you know. There is so many good people out there.”

Donations can be made to this GoFundMe account to help with Cayden’s medical expenses.
