Police chase ends sending 4 to the hospital

NOBLE COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) – An early morning police chase ended when a car missed a curve, sending it off the road where it crashed into a tree.

According to a release from the Noble County Sheriff’s Department, the four occupants of the vehicle were transported to a hospital with various head, facial and possible internal injuries.

According to WISH-TV sister station WANE News, a Noble County Sheriff’s deputy attempted to stop the car after it sped out of an Albion gas station around 7:30 a.m. on Sunday.

The car headed west on Jefferson Street and turned north on York Street. Eventually the car crashed into a tree near the intersection of Oak Street and Jackson Street.

The Albion Police and the Albion Fire Department were called to help because all four occupants were trapped inside the car. Once out of the car, two people were transported to the hospital by helicopter and the other two were taken to the hospital by an ambulance.

Two of the four occupants were identified:The driver, Jose Enrique Cuevas, 29, of Goshen and a passenger named Manuel Rojas. The other two passengers have yet to be identified.
