24-hour hotline helps homeless vets

INDIANAPOLIS – A helpful hotline started service Monday, aimed at assisting veterans facing homelessness.

Mayor Ballard’s new H.O.M.E. program has a live 24-hour call center as of Monday morning.

Any veteran in Indianapolis who is either homeless or risking going without a shelter can call 317-327-4VET (4838) to access any of H.O.M.E. services.

H.O.M.E. partners with more than 30 service providers to end veteran homelessness in Indianapolis. Providers include Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center, Easter Seals Crossroads, HVAF and Operation Job Ready Vets.

The program is funded by grant money, in-kind contributions and private donations.
