INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A 21-year-old Indianapolis man was arrested in connection to a Sunday night homicide.

David Scott was arrested on preliminary charges of murder and attempted murder after investigators say he shot two people in an apartment, Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officials said. The shooting happened around 10 p.m. in the 1600 block of Centurion Circle, which is near West 79th Street and Harcourt Road.

Both male victims were taken to St. Vincent Indianapolis Hospital in critical condition. Upon arrival, one of the men died from his injuries. As of Monday afternoon, the second victim remained in critical condition. IMPD did not release the names of the victims.

Investigators believe Scott knew the victims. IMPD officials said officers found drug paraphernalia and what they believe to be narcotics inside the apartment. Police believe Scott and one of the victims were doing drugs before the shooting.
