Driver cited for driving over 100 mph during foggy conditions

SEYMOUR, Ind. (WISH) – Indiana State Police say an Illinois man was traveling over 100 mph during the foggy conditions Wednesday morning.

Around 8:15 a.m. an ISP trooper clocked a Hyundai Tiburon going 115 mph on I-65 near the 48 mile marker. The weather at the time was foggy and roads were wet.

The driver of the Hyundai, Michael Villada, 22, was forced to slow down for traffic that’s when the trooper caught up with Villada. Villada told the trooper he was late for work.

Villada, of Chicago Illinois, was cited for exceeding the posted speed limit.

At the time of the incident the trooper was working a several other crashes including two fatalities on I-65.
