Pile-up partially closes I-69 in Huntington County

HUNTINGTON COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) – A lane on the interstate has been shut down after a multiple-vehicle accident on I-69 in Huntington County at the 279-mile marker, which is about six miles south of Markle.

According to Indiana State Police, several vehicles collided and at least one rolled over around 5:10 p.m. on Friday.

As of 6:10 p.m. the northbound passing lane on I-69 was closed while police work on the scene, according to WISH-TV sister station WANE News. The southbound lane was originally open, however, police have closed off the right lane of southbound I-69 also. Police are urging motorists to avoid the area.

Police could not yet provide any information on injuries. It’s also not known when the northbound lane would be back open.

As of 6:45 p.m. ISP had re-opened all of the lanes on I-69.
