10-year-old tied up during home invasion, robbery

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers are investigating after an early morning home invasion were a suspect tied up a 10-year-old on the city’s north side.

According to IMPD, a suspect entered a home in the 5000 block of North Capitol Avenue around 2 a.m. Sunday. The suspect gained entry of the home through an unlocked basement window.

Once the suspect was inside they came across the 10-year-old and tied them up, police said. The child screamed and the mother went to the child’s room.

The suspect demanded car keys, money and computers from the mother when she entered the room. Police say the suspect got away with a 2015 Honda Pilot, IPad, Nintendo DS3 and a small amount of cash.

The unknown suspect fled from the residence in the stolen Honda Pilot.
