Indy Irish pub makes top 10 list for St. Patrick’s Day parties

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — St. Patrick’s Day is Tuesday and dozens of celebrations will be going on around town.

Indianapolis’ oldest Irish pub which is one of the oldest family-owned pubs in the U.S. will be front and center in St. Patrick’s day fun.

The Golden Ace Inn at 2533 E. Washington St. is gearing up the big day, with live Irish music inside and under a tent in their parking lot.

The business opened on March 1, 1934 by Ireland immigrants John and Anne McGinley. Now Golden Ace Inn is owned by the McGinley family and they have made a name for the restaurant as one of USA Today’s top 10 places in the nation to “Party like your Irish on St. Patrick’s Day.”

Admission for the event is $5. Doors open at 10:30 a.m. with the tent opening at 11:30 a.m.
