Police: Mother facing charges after allegedly shooting son

HICKSVILLE, Ohio (WANE) – A man was injured during a shooting in Hicksville Monday evening, according to the Hicksville Police Department.

45-year-old Gus Camp was shot in the stomach inside a home near East Cornelia Street and Bunnel Street. Police and emergency responders were called to the area shortly after 5:30 p.m.

Camp was air lifted to a Fort Wayne hospital where his condition was unknown late Monday. Investigators believed Camp’s condition was serious and he may have sustained life-threatening injuries, but that was unconfirmed by police.

A motive for the shooting was not revealed by investigators.

Margaret Camp, 71, Hicksville, has been initially charged with felonious assault in connection with the shooting, according to police.

The incident is under investigation by the Hicksville Police Department, Defiance County Sheriff’s Department, and Defiance County Prosecutor’s Office.
