Fraggle Rock movie in the works with help of Joseph Gordon-Levitt

INDIANAPOLIS (CNN/WISH) – A popular 1980s show could hit the big screen with the help of Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

The actor will star and produce the feature adaptation. New Regency and The Henson Co. are also producing.

The show followed a group of cave-dwelling puppet creatures called Fraggles on their daily adventures. Doozers, industrious creatures, and Gorgs, furry giants were also a part of the show.

Levit steps in to help Jim Byrkit and Alex Manugian who are slated to write the screen version. John Stevenson will direct the film.
