Jean-Michael Cousteau’s film to be viewed at IMAX downtown

Indianapolis audiences are invited to dive deep below the sea and explore the depths of our ocean with Jean-Michel Cousteau, son of ocean pioneer Jacques Cousteau, as he offers a breathtaking look at some of the smallest life forms on the planet. SECRET OCEAN 3D is out now at the downtown IMAX Theater.

The 3D film transports audiences into the vibrant underwater landscape of our ocean floor, as Jean-Michel Cousteau and marine biologist Holly Lohuis take a look at the biggest story of all – that the smallest life in the sea is the mightiest force on which we all depend.

I’ve been diving for 69 years…and I’ve been very frustrated not to be able to go deeper and stay longer. Then suddenly I realized new technology…is allowing us, with these prototype cameras, to be able to focus on tiny little things which I couldn’t see the behavior because we are shooting in slow motion…and we can put it on a big screen and see things I’ve never seen before.” Jean-Michael Cousteau

Narrated by renowned oceanographer Dr. Sylvia Earle, SECRET OCEAN 3D introduces viewers to over 40 different underwater species and includes some of the most unforgettable scenes of life beneath the waves ever captured, such as Squid City, Kelp Forest Avenue, Octopus Ride, Christmas Tree Symphony, Zooplankton Spaceships, and the Arrow Crabs’ dance. The stunning documentary was filmed over three years at locations around the globe, including the Bahamas, the Fiji Islands and Biminis.
