TSA pre-check program reaches major milestone

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A new milestone has been reached in the nation’s TSA pre-check program. More than one million travelers have enrolled.

The announcement was made on Tuesday. It was announced at the Indianapolis International, because Indy was the site of the first pre-check application center in the country. More than 21,000 travelers have used the Indy center to sign up for the program.

“We started out at this airport with one TSA pre-check lane, on the A side. We’ve now expanded to having a pre-check lane on both sides. And in many days we’ll be opening up to four lanes on one of the checkpoints,” said Aaron Batt TSA Director for Indiana

TSA pre-check allows travelers to experience faster and more effective screening at over 130 U.S. airports. Travelers can leave their shoes, light outerwear and belt, on, when going through security.
