Self Defense moves for real-life situations

The black-belt instructors at Pro Martial Arts in Fishers share some basic self-defense moves for real-life situations. They have a 6-week course starting on April 18 at their studio (by 96th and Lantern) which is great for men, women, teen girls and girls going off to college.

Awareness is your number one defense…being aware of what is around you will keep you out of bad situations.”

TIPS:

-Be aware: If you are in a bad area, get off your cell phones and pay attention to what is around you.

-Run away: Know the weak spots of your attacker and use them to break their hold so you can flee.

-Practice: By doing it over and over again, you don’t have to think, you are ready to react.
