Fallen officer to be awarded

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Fallen Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department Officer Rod Bradway is set to receive the Congressional Badge of Bravery.

The award was created by Congress in 2008 to honor exception acts of bravery by law enforcement officers at the federal, state and local levels.

On Friday, U.S. Senators Dan Coats and Joe Donnelly, U.S. Representative Andre Carson, representatives from the U.S. Department of Justice and IMPD will come together to honor Bradway.

In 2013, Bradway was killed in the service.

The award will be presented to Bradway’s widow.
