Yoga is an Art. Which is why Invoke Studio is proud to support and showcase the creative work by Jonathan McAfee. The event will feature his collection – Classical Waste this month. This new and more conceptual body of work will be showcased on Friday, April 10th from 6 – 9 pm. Fuse art and yoga together by enjoying a yoga class at 4:30PM, 5:30PM, or 7PM, followed by wine and light snacks, or turn your night into your own Second Friday and stop by the studio to experience McAfee’s collection.
“In my current series of paintings, all of the subjects are taken from American Apparel ads and models. They are sexy and seductive, playful and ridiculous. The models aren’t your typical strong men with heroic muscles and brooding eyes. The women are seductive and oftentimes portrayed as carefree, loose, and flaunting unrealistic body types. I am fascinated by the shift in our perception of what defines masculinity and femininity today, versus what it looked like in centuries past” said McAfee.”
Invoke Studio Owner, Amy Peddycord, is excited about the event and to support the local arts community in Indianapolis saying “I’ve always admired Jonathan’s work, so I am glad we are able to support his work and bring the yoga and art community together for this event.”
