ROSELAND, Ind. (AP) — Authorities launched an investigation after a pedestrian was killed in the town of Roseland.
Assistant Chief Bill Thompson of the St. Joseph County Police Department said the accident took place on Monday.
He said a man and his wife had finished dinner at a restaurant and were trying to cross the street to go back to their hotel.
Thompson said the man was struck by a southbound pickup truck traveling at a high rate of speed. He said the man was taken with serious injuries to a local hospital, where he later died.
Thompson said the victim and his wife were part of a tour group visiting from another state.
