Police: Man stabbed 13 times during Sheridan robbery

SHERIDAN, Ind. (WISH) – Police in Sheridan are investigating after a man was stab more than a dozen times during what officers believe may have been a drug deal gone bad.

It happened early Sunday morning in the 200 block of East 7th Street. Police were initially called to the scene after receiving a report that a 25-year-old man had been assaulted. They later learned the incident had escalated into a robbery and stabbing.

Preliminarily, investigators say the victim was home when he was attacked. The victim suffered about 13 knife stab wounds to the chest and neck. Police say he was able to call an ambulance.

Medics transported the victim to a local hospital where he was later released with non life-threatening injuries.

Police say during the attack and robbery, an Xbox 1 and Play Station were taken. The suspect took off, but police say they believe they know who he is and are looking to speak with him.
