Tiger Woods returns at Masters

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WISH) — The Masters gets underway on Thursday down in Augusta and a familiar face will be returning to action.

Tiger Woods will compete in his first PGA event after a back injury held him out for two months, and the four-time winner says it was a tough road back to full strength.

“I worked hard,” said Woods. “People would never understand how much work I put into this to come back again. It was sunup to sundown and whenever I had free time. If the kids were asleep, I’d be doing it, and if they were in school, I’d still be doing it. So it was a lot of work.”

Woods will compete for his fifth green jacket against several notable contenders, including Rory McIlroy and defending Masters champion Bubba Watson.

He has already begun practicing and playing, as he took part in the Par 3 contest at Augusta National today with many fan favorites.

PGA legend Jack Nicklaus was one of those participants, and he made some noise today by hitting a hole-in-one.

Nicklaus boasts a record 18 major wins, still four ahead of Tiger Woods.
