Boy Scout derby held at Indiana State Museum

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – The Boy Scouts of America had 100 race cars that competed against each other on Saturday at the Indiana State Museum.

The museum hosted the 8th Annual Pinewood Derby where participants had six months to create their race car out of pinewood.

Organizers said the Pinewood Derby created exciting learning opportunities in youth while teaching character development.

The derby is also an opportunity for the community to see what all the museum has to offer.

“With 35,000 scouts in our community, this is a great opportunity to learn and do things,” said Ted Klick, with Crossroads of America Council Boy Scouts of America.
