$76.4M sports complex planned for Fishers

FISHERS, Ind. (WISH) – A $76.4 million sports and entertainment complex may be headed to Fishers, Mayor Scott Fadness announced Monday morning.

The project will be privately funded by GK Sports and Entertainment and built near Saxony Village. It will have a 4,200-seat arena, 245,000-square-foot fieldhouse and 600-space parking garage. The idea is for the facilities to host “a variety of hard-court or turf sports,” according to Fishers officials. A medical office and future hotel are also expected.

As part of the proposal, the city council will consider April 20 a proposal for a 10-year tax abatement, a waiver of impact and permit fees and a 20-year lease agreement with the city for use of the facilities. The 20-year agreement would allow use of the courts or turf from Monday-Thursday and community access to a walking/jogging track Monday-Friday.

The full project will see a city council vote on May 18.

The public is invited to three meetings that will provide information. They are all at 6 p.m. Here are the dates and locations:

  • April 22, Crosspoint Church, 13678 Silverstone Drive
  • April 30, Launch Fishers, 7 Municipal Drive
  • May 7, City of Fishers Auditorium, 1 Municipal Drive
