Gas main ruptures in Boone County

BOONE COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) – According to officials, emergency crews dealt with a gas main rupture in Lebanon Monday morning.

The issue started after 8 a.m. in the 2000 block of South Indianapolis Avenue.

Emergency officials have asked people to avoid the area until 10 a.m., while Vectren crews work at the scene. The I-65 ramp to Lebanon was blocked while crews investigated.

No cause of the rupture was given, but several departments, including the Boone County Sheriff and Lebanon Fire Department, are on the scene working to correct the problem. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
