Pacers back in control of playoff race

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – In a year filled with ups and downs, the Indiana Pacers are back in control of the race for the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference with two days left in the season.

With the Chicago Bulls defeating the Brooklyn Nets 113-86 Monday night, the Blue and Gold currently hold a half game lead over the Nets, with two games left to play.

The Pacers host the Washington Wizards Tuesday night at Bankers Life Fieldhouse before wrapping up the regular season Wednesday night in Memphis against the Grizzlies. A win in both of those games would put the Pacers into the postseason for the fifth consecutive year.

The Pacers could also make the playoffs by splitting their final two games, however, for that to happen, Brooklyn would also have to lose its final game of the season against Orlando.

The team says they are focused solely on what they can control.

“The only thing we can do, the best chance to give us a chance of being the postseason is to win out,” said Paul George.
