Shelby County teenager dies in car crash

FAIRLAND, Ind. (WISH) – A teenager died on Friday after his car crashed into a tree and his vehicle burst into flames.

Corbin Robert Laycock, 19, Fairland, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Shelby County coroner’s office.

Police said that Laycock was speeding and failed to navigate a 90-degree turn. When his vehicle began to smoke, witnesses to the accident tried to assist him out of the vehicle.

They were unable to extract Laycock from the vehicle before it became engulfed in flames.
