Charges filed in March hit-and-run case

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Charges have been filed against man accused of a hit-and-run that has left a woman clinging to her life.

Corey Patrick, 31, now faces felony charges for allegedly striking Tanya Turman with his car on March 26.

Patrick faces one count of leaving the scene of an accident with serious bodily injury, a level 6 felony.

Patrick was arrested by the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department on Sunday.

According to IMPD, Patrick contacted police wanting to turn himself in.

Investigators were notified and an interview with Patrick was conducted. During the interview, Patrick allegedly confessed to the hit-and-run.

Family members of Turman told 24-Hour News 8 on Saturday that she is clinging to life. They spoke with 24-Hour News 8 after police announced the arrest.

“We wasn’t gonna give up, especially I wasn’t gonna give up finding this person,” said Pamela Grant, Turman’s mother.

Patrick’s initial hearing is set for April 16.
