Kitten rescued from storm drain gets new name
RIVERVIEW, FL (WFLA) – Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Deputy John Kotfila got to help out a furry friend in need in the Tampa Bay area.
Deputy Kotfila rescued and comforted an 8 week old kitten after he rescued him from a storm drain in a neighborhood near U.S. 301 and Big Bend Road in Riverview.
It took a net, a towel, and lots of help from nearby resident Donnell Hill to get the kitten out of the drain.
Fortunately the kitten was not injured, only very wet and scared.
And there’s a good news ending to this story. The kitten was adopted by Sheriff’s Office Communications Dispatcher Heather Worsley-Kelly, but not before he got a front seat tour of the HCSO patrol vehicle.
And you might have guessed this one, his new name is”Stormy”!
