Medical emergency leads to driver crashing into building

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – A driver crashed his vehicle into a tire shop on Thursday evening.

Officials with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said the driver had a medical emergency while driving on East Hanna Avenue on the city’s southside.

The driver’s car ended up running into the Southside Tire building on Carson Avenue.

IMPD says the driver was conscious when he was pulled from his vehicle. A small dog was also rescued.

IMPD says the driver was transported to a local hospital with undisclosed injuries.
